Rhodia

The GFA includes strong language regarding responsible behaviour by the company’s suppliers and subcontractors. It is supported by IndustriALL French affiliates Fedechemie (CGT-FO) and Federation Chimie Energie (CFDT).

The agreement creates a joint safety issues discussion group; allows the agreement’s application to be audited by an outside expert jointly chosen by the two parties; and, following successful early joint missions, sets up an annual mission to a country to assess terms of the accord.

In addition a joint Global Safety Forum has been created in order to bring higher health and safety standards into the company for its 15,000 worldwide employees. The Forum was officially established in 2010.

Rheinmetall

The agreement acknowledges the company's social responsibility and its support of and compliance with the ILO Core Labour Standards.

The GFA stipulates that ILO Conventions No. 87 (Freedom of Association) and No. 98 (Right to Collective Bargaining) will be respected. Moreover, the GFA deals with prohibition of child work and forced labour and non-discrimination, as well as remuneration, health and safety and working time.

According to the agreement, the company "supports and expressly encourages" its contractors to take this declaration into account in their own respective corporate policy. Rheinmetall "views this as an advantageous basis for mutual relationships".

Rheinmetall produces automotive components, weapons equipment and electronics.

Renault

The Renault GFA acknowledges the company's social responsibility, its support of and compliance with the ILO core labour standards and the basic right of all employees to establish and join unions and employee representations.

Among other items, the GFA stipulates that ILO Conventions No. 87 (Freedom of Association) and No. 98 (Right to Collective Bargaining) will be respected. PSA Peugeot Citroën

The initial agreement commits the company to adhere to the International Labour Organisation Core Labour Standards, including clauses on freedom of association, the right to collective bargaining, the right to equal pay, no forced or child labour and no discrimination. The company also agrees to:

Present in 160 countries, the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group is focusing its international development on China, Latin America and Russia. In April 2010 the Group launched a new car assembly plant in Kaluga, Russia. The plant 70 per cent owned by PSA Peugeot Citroën and 30 per cent by Mitsubishi Motors is expected to employ some 3,000 workers in 2012 when the plant becomes fully operational. In China, PSA Peugeot Citroën has a joint-venture with Dongfeng and has signed a letter of intent with China Chang'an Automobile Group for the creation of another joint venture. PSA Peugeot Citroën employs about 187,000 people throughout the world.

Prym

The declaration on "Social Rights and Industrial Relations" binds the family-owned company specialized in the manufacturing of metal press buttons, electrical contact parts – also for the automotive industry – and sewing and quilting to the ILO core labour standards and the basic right of all employees to establish and join unions.

Importantly, the company supports and encourages its contractors to take this declaration into account in their own respective corporate policy. Prym "views this as an advantageous basis for mutual relationships." Prym facilities include Birkenfeld and Stolberg, in Germany, Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA and Malaysia.

Petrobras

The agreement was made possible through the support of Brazilian trade union affiliate, the Oil and Gas Workers’ Unified Federation (FUP).

The agreement commits Petrobras to recognizing the right of freedom of association and to bargain collectively for all employees, as well as establishing formal dialogue channels between staff and management. It also promotes working conditions that are favorable to a balance between work, personal, and family life.

The GFA states that Petrobras “will strive to get all service providers to comply” with nine labour relations points contained in the agreement, including health and safety and providing necessary equipment, permanent institutionalization of negotiation channels, and equal opportunities and promotion of training opportunities. 


Petrobras, 56% owned by the Brazilian government, has 80,500 employees and operates in some 30 countries. The company is a leader in exploration and production of oil, and operates 16 refineries as well as numerous petrochemicals, biofuels, pipelines and other installations.

Norske Skog

Norske Skog is a leading producer of wood-containing publication paper, particularly newsprint.

Under the agreement, Norske Skog and the unions will work together “locally, nationally and internationally” on the basis of the company’s core values – openness, honesty and cooperation. “This ensures the possibility for the employees to influence decisions through consultations with the management,” the agreement says.

Importantly, compliance with the agreement is subject to annual review at a joint meeting of the signatories. There is also a step-by-step complaints procedure, leading up to the global level where necessary.

MAN

Both management and the trade union representation at the MAN Group are of the opinion that social responsibility and the ability to compete are mutually dependent. The agreed principles are based on the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), but also take their own approach. The declaration is intended to reflect different cultures and the diversity of moral concepts in society. In accordance with the agreement the group’s management will report annually on implementation of the principles and discuss them with the parties to the agreement.

The MAN Group is one of Europe’s leading transport-related engineering companies, with revenue of approximately €16.5 billion in 2011. As a supplier of trucks, buses, diesel engines, turbo machinery, and special gear units, MAN employs approximately 52,500 people worldwide.

Lukoil

The agreement links Lukoil's pledge on upholding human rights to the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and all trade union rights as enshrined in ILO Conventions and the UN's Global Compact. It also references the ILO's Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS, as well as a "family values" clause linked to ILO Convention 156 (workers with family responsibilities). The agreement is reviewed annually and it provides access and assistance to a Lukoil Workers' Network through their trade unions.

The GFA commits Lukoil and the International and its affiliates to the importance of protecting the health, safety and well being of those at work, and to share a sense of joint responsibility for the impact that work and company practices may have on the natural and human environment."

Leoni

Leoni is a worldwide manufacturer of wires and cables. Through the GFA with IndustriALL the company commits compliance with "internationally accepted human rights", and the basic right of all employees to establish and join unions and employee representations.

The GFA stipulates that ILO Conventions No. 87 (Freedom of Association) and No. 98 (Right to Collective Bargaining) will be respected everywhere, regardless of national legislation.

Importantly, the company "supports and expressly encourages" its contractors to take this declaration into account in their own respective corporate policy. Leoni "views this as an advantageous basis for mutual relationships".
